Beschreibung

It is practically unfeasible to exclude Internet from people's lives. Internet has become a fraction of daily schedule for individuals, foundation of business model for organizations and platform of communication for bureaucracy. An internet is strong source of motivation and has capacity to change people's mindset. Thus, it is noteworthy to know what necessitate individuals behind the use of Internet. In order to address the objective of the research, 122 graduate students including 55 from engineering and 67 from management stream were asked to report their response in three major categories i.e. demographic part, internet usage behavior part and internet usage motive part. The findings demonstrate distinctive patterns of Internet use and usage motives for those of two academic streams. The hypothesis testing showed that management students were highly motivated by social media and entertainment motive in comparison to engineering students. Secondly, it was found that male students were also highly motivated by social media and entertainment motive.
