This book is based on a study that investigates the sociological aspects of mobile phone usage among undergraduate students of selected universities in Bangalore City, India. It looks into how the mobile phones have evolved from being a mere technological device to becoming an essential tool for socialization, influencing not simply the methods of communication but the structure of human relationships as well. Being the first generation to have grown with mobile technology, the youth in India has made mobile phones an integral part of their diet. What are the various ways in which mobile phones are used by the university students? What are the kinds of attitude linked with mobile phone usage? Are the university students inclined towards heavy usage of mobile phones? What are the kinds of influences that mobile phone usage has on interpersonal relationships? These are some of the questions the study attempts to answer.
