Civil wars characterized most African countries in the post-colonial era. During the war children, both boys and girls were actively and passively involved. However, girl child soldiers experienced unique challenges post war. This book seeks to delve into the unique impacts active participation in the civil war had on the girl child soldier. The impacts are broadly categorized into physical, social and psychological impacts.

Ms. Diana Amondi Oyugi was born and brought up in Homa Bay, a small township in the western part of Kenya. She has a degree in both Political Science and Law from the University of Nairobi. She is passionate about the plight of women, especially the African women.
