This handbook provides a comprehensive overview of the different aspects of dental education with the incorporation of digital technologies. It covers dentistry in academia as it embraces the rapid changes in technological landscapes in the 21st century. Every aspect of academia such as curriculum design and review, student evaluation and assessment, and teaching and learning methods must match the current demand and need. In general, this is not easy for those who are primarily focused on clinical practices and dental professions. Therefore this book provides extensive, important, and selected topics related to new technologies in dental education and training, it is a useful reference for students, academics, and clinical dentists.

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tariqur Rahman is currently with the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at EastWest University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he also served as the Founding Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy in 2004. Previously, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Sciences and as Associate Dean (Continuing Education) at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya. He was also the founding President of the Malaysian Society for Oral Microbiologists and Oral Immunologists (2018-2020). He holds degrees in Microbiology (University of Dhaka, Bangladesh) and Biochemistry (KU Leuven, Belgium, Ph.D. 2001), and has served in academic and research positions in Bangladesh, Japan, and Malaysia. His research spans oral immunology, metallobiochemistry, stem cell biology, and scientometrics. Beyond his scientific work, he edited the book Immunology for Dentistry, published by Wiley. He has been a regular contributor to Malaysian English-language news media. Prof. Dr. Noor Lide Abu Kassim is with the Kulliyyah of Education, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She holds a Ph.D. in Psychometrics and Educational Evaluation from Universiti Sains Malaysia. During her doctoral studies, she was a recipient of the 2004 Australian Endeavour Postgraduate Fellowship Award. Her involvement in dental-related research spans nearly two decades. From 2011 to 2013, she served as a Visiting Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya. She also taught Biostatistics at the Faculty of Dentistry, IIUM from 2012 to 2015. Between 2015 and 2017, she taught Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the College of Nursing, Umm Al-Qura University, Mecca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She currently serves as the Director of IIUM Press and as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the International Islamic College. In addition, she is the Head of Program for the Malaysian Research Star Award under the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.
