Beschreibung
In this book the author and her associates, in her research of infant and young child feeding practice, demonstrated the breastfeeding indicators and identifying contributing factors which can be helpful in monitoring and development promotion programs in Tripoli / Libya. The authors mentioned the data base available about the under-5 child nutrition situation in Libya for 1996 - 2003-2007, 2009, 2014. As well, it is described the status of infant and young child feeding globally and the rates of the mortality in children under-5 because of under-nutrition in the world and in some countries in Eastern Mediterranean Sea region. They defined the BFHI (Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative with its ten steps of successful breastfeeding which is presented in the joint of WHO/UNICEF statement. The reader can find the methodology of the research which is described thoroughly, as well as the protocol, the questionnaire, the informal consent, dedication, and acknowledgements.
Autorenporträt
Khiria Salem Saadi, currently a National Focal Point of IYCF program. Between 2006-2010, she worked as National Director of Mother & Child Health Care in MOH, Libya, as well as a National Focal Point of "IMCI" Libya. From 2013 till now, the author is Head of Scientific Committee for Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative & (code) in NCDC, Libya.
