The science of vehicle dynamics has flourished throughout the 20th century. Scientists worked on practical approaches to quantify the motion of vehicles; then came the era of tire modelling followed by the era of digital simulations and vehicle dynamics control. This book is about that period which extends from the middle 90s to the beginning of the 21st century, where many subcomponents of the vehicles became active components. That period is also the era of three letter acronyms (ABS, ESC, etc). We now talk about ADAS systems and intelligent transportation systems and also driverless vehicles. S. Çaglar Baslamisli received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2007 from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. He is currently with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. His current research interest includes vehicle dynamics control, vehicle state and parameter estimation
