Chapter 1 presents the various features of distribution automation and earlier work concerning electrical distribution systems and its optimization methods. Chapter 2 presents a simple method of three phase power flow algorithm for application to Electrical Distribution Systems with inclusion of distribution line, line shunt admittance, capacitor, transformer, voltage regulator and different type of load modeling. Chapter 3 presents an approach to network reconfiguration for power loss reduction and voltage profile enhancement in Unbalanced Radial Distribution Systems using GA. Chapter 4 and 5 presents a simple algorithm for optimal capacitor placement and sizing and also Distributed Generator placement to minimize power losses and improving the voltage profile in unbalanced radial distribution systems. Chapter 6 discusses about optimal placement of voltage Regulator using GA. This book mainly useful for the researchers in the area of power systems & electrical distribution systems.

Dr.Vualsala Ganesh is graduated B.Tech in 1998 from JNTU University,Hyderabad, Masters from S.V.University,Tirupathi and Ph.D from JNTUA University,Andhra Pradesh. He is Presently working as Associate Professor and head for the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at JNTUACEP, A.P,India.He is presently guiding six Ph.D scholars.
