Beschreibung
Multi-layered panels are widely used for reducing noise transmission, e.g. in the aircraft industry where a low mass is desired. To predict the sound transmission through such a panel, a structural-acoustical numerical model has been created. Several aspects of the model were investigated: the diffuse field excitation, shell formulations for different material layers, the coupling between the layers and the surrounding medium. As a result, a general framework for efficiently solving the transmission problem has been developed combining preconditioning techniques and Krylov subspace iterative solvers.
