Remote sensing is not modern science, but being practiced since long. Advances in imaging, communications, and computer science have reinforced the remote sensing technology for applications of complex and challenging nature. The Landsat satellite is the oldest satellite providing data for earth observation. This book covers the fundamentals of remote sensing with its Applications using Landsat data. The characteristics of various Landsat sensors and the recent advances in Landsat products are discussed. The book discusses the concise details required for using Landsat as the source of remote sensing imagery and its suitability for the application in various fields.

The author is affiliated with Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad, India. His area of research is Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System. He is working on an automated prediction of ambient air pollution using remote sensing.
