In the today scenario, Energy is a crucial ingredient for economic development. In the developing world provision of a greater access to energy has been suggested by some that will help grow their economies and improve the lives of the poor. So this book is intended to serve as a text book for the power generation from Municipal solid Waste of Solan city in Himachal Pradesh of India. Municipal Solid Waste contains organic as well as inorganic matter. The latent energy present in its organic fraction can be recovered for gain full utilization through adoption of suitable waste processing and treatment technologies. Demand for land, which is already scarce in cities, for land filling is reduced. the cost of transportation of wastes to far away landfill sites also gets reduced proportionately and net reduction in environmental pollution. It is, therefore, only logical that, the option of Energy recovery from wastes be also duly examined.

Mr. Robin Thakur is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Shoolini University, Solan (H.P.) India. He received Masters Degree from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak in the year 2010 and pursuing Ph.D. from Shoolini University, Solan-India. He has 07 years experience of teaching at U.G. and P.G. level.
