Beschreibung
This book is a humble attempt towards exposition and utilization of value engineering, as an independent design plus production integrated scheme, with significant savings of material and efforts. The new industrial revolution that aims to conserve natural resources, prune down wastage, and spiral toward sustainable living is in perfect harmony with this rediscovered (and a bit reinvented) value engineering plus by authors. The book presents the remarkable system, well-established as value engineering or value methodology, developed by an iconic GE design Engineer, Lawrence Miles. It is a function-cost weighted approach and grounded in reality. The book discusses enhancement of a) creative thinking using techniques other than over-hyped brainstorming, b) including hands-on invention education in curricula from middle school to masters degree level, c) finally, a sensitization towards, followed by importance of possessing Intellectual Property (patent/utility model) for any tangible process or product created.
