I am very pleased to present first book of Elements of Mechanical Engineering - MCQs and Numerical as per GTU. This E Book is specially designed and prepared for the students studying in first year of engineering under GTU. The E Book includes multiple choice questions, important equations and numerical asked in previous GTU examinations with their solutions. I am very thankful to The Almighty-GOD for such positive thought and courage to implement it. I am highly obliged to our beloved Principal, Dr. R. K. Jain for providing constant source of inspiration, support and sparing time to write the forward to first edition. I am also thankful to Dr. V. N. Singh (Head, MED, ADIT) for his co-operation and moral support. I am also thankful to all colleagues for their help.

Dr. N. K. Chavda is presently working as Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at A. D. Patel Institute of Technology, New Vallabh Vidyanagar. He has about 20 years of teaching experience. He has presented/published many research papers. He has been awarded with Best Polytechnic Teacher for the year 2001 by ISTE, New Delhi.
