Beschreibung

Demand of energy, consumption of fossile fuel and enviornment pollution are related to each others. if the demand of energy increases then fossile fuels consumption are also increased, and if the fossile fuels consumption are increased then the environment pollution is also increased, so enhancement of alterantive fuels are needed. Therefore, bio-fuel will play very vital role in near future. Bio-fuel, produced as vegetable oils from plants, burning leads to a complete recyclable carbon dioxide, whcih reduces green house effect. Biodesel has a higher centane number than petroleum diesel fuel, no sulphur, no aromatics, and contains O2 (10-11% by wt.) and therefore reduces emission of CO, HC, PM, and SOx in exhaust gas as compared with diesel fuel and while nitrogen oxides (NOx) slightly increased. In this present combustion study, Thumba oil blend (20% TO + 80% diesel), thumba biodiesel blend (20% TB + 80% diesel) with diesel, vapours of SVO and biogas was used in CI engine. Combustion characteristics were obtained at the optimized compression ratio. In additin to this, during present study, LPG operated appliances were also converted into biogas operated appliances.
