Beschreibung

Ultra Wide-Band (UWB) is a communication technology that uses very low energy and high rate pulses. It is short range and high bandwidth communications. UWB communications transmit in a way that doesn't interfere with other conventional narrowband technologies uses in the same frequency band. The main application for UWB is radar imaging, data collection from target sensors, precision locating and tracking of targets. UWB is also an alternative of existing wireless technologies such as WLAN, Wi-Fi, HiperLAN etc. Federal Communication Commission (FCC) authorized the unlicensed use of UWB in the range of 3.1 to 10.6 GHz for commercial applications in February 2002. Binary data of extremely short duration pulses (in pico-seconds) is transmitted over a very wide spectrum of frequencies. Each device is given a unique PN code (Pseudo-random Noise) to minimize the interference. The FCC has fixed the power spectral density emission limit from -41.3dBm/MHz to -75dBm/MHz of emitters for UWB applications which is the same that applies to unintentional emitters in UWB technology, known as Part 15 limit.
