Character Recognition, usually referred to as CR,is the process of converting the image obtained by scanning a text or a document into machine-editable format. CR is one of the most important fields of pattern recognition and has been the centre of attention for researchers in the last forty decades.The goal is to process data that normally is processed only by humans with computers. On of the apparent advantages of computer processing is dealing with huge amounts of information at high speed.
