The book includes chapters by an international team of experts. Chemical, physical, electrochemical, photochemical and mechanical methods of synthesis are covered. Moreover, biological synthesis using microbes, an option that is both eco-friendly and economically viable, is presented. The antimicrobial potential of different nanoparticles is also covered, bioactivity mechanisms are elaborated on, and several applications are reviewed in separate sections. Lastly, the toxicology of nano-antimicrobials and microorganisms used in literatures is briefly assessed. Only with careful understanding and application of the principles and recommendations described in this text we will, as healthcare professionals, be able to uphold the statement of the Hippocratic Oath to do no harm.

Dr. Edris Hoseinzadeh has received his PhD from Tarbiat Modares University (TMU) in Environmental Health Engineering. He is presently works as international researcher and editor in chief of HOZAN Journal of Environmental Sciences(HJES). Prior to this he was faculty member of Environmental Health Engineering department at LUMS.
