A data center can be defined as a space that houses and delivers information technology (IT) services such as telecom, compute, storage or usually a mix of all aforementioned. IT equipment has three major requirements to guarantee functionality space, power and sufficient cooling. The Integrated Data Center can be defined as a computing/storage environment where the design of the IT and the architecture of the data center are compatible to maximize service delivery and uptime. This book addresses the thermal characteristics of servers and their interaction with different data center cooling solutions through a set of multi-level experiments and numerical models.

Dr. Husam Alissa is a Design Verification Engineer at Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations Team. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He has authored or coauthored over 24 Journal or peer-reviewed publications and has multiple patents pending.
