RhodamineB belongs to the Xanthene group of laser dyes.It can be tuned around 610nm. The tunable range of a dye laser depends on the solvent,to some extent,due to the change in fluorescence spectrum of dye.This indicates that some type of interaction takes place between laser dye and solvent.Moreover, water impurities enter the dye solution with the passage of time.Therefore it is also important to investigate the effect of water impurity on the laser dye. Further, laser dye embedded in the solid matrix interacts with the host material.The present book represents the effect of all the above said environments on RhodamineB.

Dr. Amit Sharma is a Ph.D. in Physics from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. His research areas are Laser Dyes, Spectroscopy and Nanotechnology.He has published 34 papers in international/national journals and conferences. He started his teaching career in 2000. Presently he is associated with BVCOE, New Delhi, India.
