Extragalactic sources of high-energy cosmic gamma-rays, like blazars and quasars, are usually highly variable and the temporal characteristics of their light curves are key to the understanding of their physics. In order to deal with blazar flares in different parts of electromagnetic spectrum - from gamma-rays and X-rays to visible light - we developed a new approach to correlation study based on Monte Carlo simulations and the Fourier convolution.

Dr. Hrupec is a research associate at the Ruder Boskovic Institute and a member of the MAGIC collaboration. He is an expert in very-high energy gamma-ray astronomy. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Zagreb in 2008. He now resides in Zagreb, Croatia.
