The removal of impacted molar teeth is one of the most common surgical procedure performed by oral and maxillofacial surgery. In large part this is because of the high incidences of impacted teeth in modern societies that have effective public health measure and because contemporary science has identified the presence or likely development of pathology associated a significant percentage of even a symptomatic thirds molars.
