Orthodontic tooth movement is brought about by application of force to the teeth with either removable or fixed appliance. Brackets are passive components of fixed appliance and are used for transferring force from active components like arch wire, springs and elastomeric chains to the teeth. This book covers all the spheres of an orthodontic bracket from its history to the recent advancement, including the various materials used for fabrication and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
