A dentist is the first likely medical practioner to come accross oral pathologies and diagnose them. These pathologies can range from a simple granuloma to a malignant tumors. The dentist must be well equiped with knowledge to daignose several such pathologies. Some such unique pathologies include Oral Hamartomas. These are rare but it is important to note their clinical behaviour is vastly different, they slow growing, self limiting and do not recur in most cases. To identify such lesions one needs to be well informed and hence this compilation with special attention to the oral cavity could shed light on Hamartomatous conditions in the oral cavity.

Dr. Pavitra Vibhakar graduated in 2008 and went on complete her masters in oral pathology through the maharashtra university of health sciences in 2012. She is the author of several publications in the field of oral and maxillofacial pathology.
