Medical emergencies which are life-threatening can and do occur in the dental office. Most of the recommendations for treating medical emergencies in the dental office are oriented towards the adult patient, and recommendations for the management of medical emergencies in the child patient are not readily available. A Pediatric Dentist must have equipment specifically for the paediatric dental patient. It is therefore important to be familiar with the knowledge and skills required for Pediatric Basic Life Support, so that the best care possible can be delivered in what is often a stressful situation.

Dr. Deepshikha is currently practising Pediatric Dentistry in Kolkata, India. She completed her post graduation MDS (Pedo) from GNIDSR, Kolkata in 2018 and her graduation BDS from BVUDCH, Navi Mumbai in 2014. She is specially trained to communicate with deaf and mute children in sign language and is working towards the well being of children.
