Gutta percha is still the material of choice for obturation of the root canal space during endodontic treatment. Over the last few years, newer formulations, instruments and techniques for the use of gutta percha have been developed. The clinician has to be abreast with these recent advancements. Moreover, with a wide array of formulations and techniques at the clinicians disposal it becomes confusing to choose one. This book, therefore, provides an insight into the history, the evolution, the chemistry and the various formulations of Gutta percha. Also discussed, are the various applications of Gutta Percha specially in relation to Restortive Dentistry and Endodontics and the various techniques associated with its use. The book,should help shed some light on the various aspects of Gutta Percha, and should be useful to dental students, practicing dentists and academicians alike.

Dr. Shreya Hegde graduated from A.B.Shetty Memorial institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore and did her post graduation in Endodontics from Yenepoya Dental College,Mangalore. Presently, she is an Assistant professor, Dept. of Endodontics, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore. She is blessed with an aptitude for teaching.
