Endodontic mishaps or procedural accidents are those unfortunate occurances that happen during treatment, some owing to inattention to detail, others totally unpredictable. Recognition of a mishap is the first step in its management. After recognition correction may be accomplished depending on the type and extent of the procedural accident. The next step is to re-evaluate the prognosis of the involved tooth. This is very essential as it may affect the entire treatment plan and may also involve dentolegal consequences. The purpose of this compilation is to present the common endodontic mishaps and approaches to recognize, correct and prevent them.
