Digital dentistry refers to the use of dental technologies or devices that incorporates digital or computer-controlled components to carry out dental procedures rather than using mechanical or electrical tools. The use of digital dentistry can make carrying out dental procedures more efficient than using mechanical tools, both for restorative as well as diagnostic purposes. The age of digitization has ushered digital dentistry which helps in integrating new technologies and maximizing treatment outcomes. Digitization improves efficiency and reduces time. Dentistry has always been digital in the sense that it requires human hands and fingers to skilfully treat patients.

Dr Ruchi Gupta has done graduation from DAV Dental college, Yamuna nagar and postgraduation from Govt Dental College, Rohtak. She is the gold medalist and best graduate student. She has a number of national and international publications to her credit. She is a professor and actively involved in postgraduate teaching.
