Little is known regarding the relations of the cerebral parts with their cranial covering. Lack of anatomical brain topography may increase complication rates of the neurosurgery. Proper craniotomy of the brain lesion and correct interpretation of the gyral structures under the craniotomy site is one of the most important steps in successful surgery. Therefore, this book is especially aimed to develop methods of building up the knowledge about cortical areas with their bone relationships to develop a science of the surface anatomy for the cortical functional areas and the superficial structures -in addition- to develop a manual neurosurgical access by using the bony landmarks and craniometrical points.
