Beschreibung

In Sudan, Haemorrhagic Septicaemia (HS) is a contagious, peracute, acute or chronic highly fatal disease of animals. The disease is endemic in most parts of tropical and subtropical Asia and Africa, and is caused by Pasteurella multocida serotypes B:2 and E:2. Both serotypes have been reported and endemic in my country. The control of the disease depends mainly upon immunization with killed adjuvant vaccines (bacterin). P.multocida B:2 and E:2 vaccine strains are routinely used for immunization against HS. The basic research characterizing of this book was to compare the efficiencies of mucosal immune response to systemic vaccination against Pasteurella multocida infection in rabbits and cattle. The vaccines used in this study were bacterin, cell lysate and toxoid and mixed with Pea-nut oil mixed (I: 1 v/v) with Freund´s incomplete adjuvant was experimented as mucosal adjuvant to deliver the vaccines. According to results, the following is recommended, more studies on P. multocida should be conducted to experiment the delivery vaccines via the intranasal route rather than other routes, most will in order to reduce the infectious burden enough to allow new vaccines to succeed.
