This work provides some baseline data on the abundance and distribution of aquatic macroinvertebrates and the physicochemical characteristics of Galma River, in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria.The work also determines the physico-chemical characteristics of the River and also the seasonal variation of aquatic macroinvertebrates and the physico-chemical characteristics of the River. The work also determines the correlation between the aquatic macroinvertebrates and the physico-chemical parameters.

Suleiman Musa was born in Anchau, Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria. Holds B.Sc. Applied Biology from Bayero University Kano and M.Sc. Ecology and Environmental Studies from Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna. He is currently a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Science Laboratory Technology Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria.
