An experiment was carried out for six weeks, in arid zone of Rajasthan. A total of 180 day old broiler chicks were divided into four treatment groups of 45 chicks which were further sub-divided into three equal replicates. The designation used in the present study were T1, control group without any supplementation. T2, T3 and T4 groups were supplemented with Black cumin seed, Black pepper and dry Tulsi leaves, respectively @ 300 g/ton of feed each. The average body weight was found to be significant in all the six weeks. Weight gain was found to be highly significant in week I, II, III, IV and VI. The average feed consumption was found to be significant in all the weeks. The effect of Black cumin seed, Black pepper and dry Tulsi leaves on feed conversion efficiency were highly significant (P < 0.01) at the starter stage (week I-III) and highly significant (P 0.01) at finisher stage (week IV-VI) and on cumulative feed conversion ratio (I-VI weeks). Mortality rate was observed to be non significant. Higher profits per chick over control, of Rs. 4.57 was found in group T3 followed by T4 Rs. 3.82, T2 Rs. 3.60. Maximum benefit:cost ratio was obtained in T3 group.
