Medical diagnostic technology has made rapid strides after the advent of computer. Many advances in human diagnostic medicines are applied in veterinary medicine. German Shepherds are very popular selection for use as working dogs and in investigatory police work. These animals are at risk of getting hip dysplasia when they become larger. Hip dysplasia is a deformity of the hip joint in which parts of the joint are abnormally shaped, and degenerate over time. This book intends to develop breeding strategies for canine hip dysplasia, asses the standard traditional radiographic techniques of canine pelvis and hindlimb and development of new radiographic techniques for the last. The hematological and chemical findings due to hip dysplasia complications were also assessed in this book NEW RADIOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES were applied and they gave optimum radiographs concerning the AREA OF INTEREST. Besides, equations using body weight of the dog were developed to measure the Kv &mAs in these new pelvic techniques. In comparison to CT & laboratory investigations Radiography is indispensible tool in diagnosis of hip dysplasia. This book is an invaluable aid for the vets & radiologists.
