Beschreibung
This work is to design nucleosides that will get transported into brain by various mechanisms through blood-brain barrier. One of the main application is for design of antiviral drugs to treat HIV infections. Uptake metabolism and delivery are the three main cellular functions of brain endothelial cells addressed here. The basic idea is to utilize nucleoside transport system of brain endothelial cells, which form the blood-barrier.

Dr. Mandar Shah received Ph.D. from The University of Kansas in 1991. Since then he has worked for many major pharmaceutical companies like BMS, Alcon, Pfizer and J&J etc. He is an innovative person with more than 12 granted patents and some more in prosecution. He has experience in developing surgical, cunsumer and Rx products.
