Beschreibung
Scar visibility is mainly a psychological problem. Patients pay attention to it, - more than one thinks. Present suturing techniques, based on traditional threads - but with modern technologies - allow to obtain near-invisible scars. But the appropriate surgeons are limited in number, not always available, and expensive. Recent suturing techniques based on skin adhesivation of wound dressings have been developed, easier to implement. The present work présents a comparison between them, and also between them and the thread suturings. An emphasis is given to the description and features of the two most recent ones, based on silicone synthetics materials, the "Embrace", and the "Magnestrip". The present work addresses to both professionals and patients.
