Beschreibung

The field of pharmacy is as old as mankind, yet as new as present-day medicines. The scope of pharmacy practice includes more traditional roles such as compounding and dispensing medications and it also includes more modern services related to health care, including clinical services, reviewing medications for safety and efficacy and providing drug information. Pharmacists, therefore, are the experts on drug therapy. A pharmacist is a drug specialist not disease specialist. Pharmacy is not a single subject its a multidisciplinary subject. To turn into proficient pharmacist, one first need to learn the pharmaceutical, medical and other terms, words and abbreviations linked to the health profession. Most of them used today are derived from Greek and Latin languages. We normally have little knowledge about these languages. Once we learn common terms, words and abbreviations we will be able to understand the world of pharmacy. The foremost objective of this book is to focus on commonly used pharmacomedical terms, words and abbreviations so that pharmacy student can easily interpret and communicate information accurately to become a competent pharmacist.
