Walter R. Palmas, MDAssociate ProfessorColumbia UniversityNew York, NY USA Dr. Palmas taught Evidence Based Medicine to medicine residents and medical students at Columbia University for many years. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Buenos Aires' School of Medicine, and he has a masters degree in Biostatistics from Columbia University. He completed cardiology training at the Hospital Italiano of Buenos Aires, and was a nuclear cardiology fellow at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. After an internal medicine residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Medical Center, he practiced medicine for more than two decades at Columbia University Medical Center. His research has ranged from nuclear cardiology and randomized clinical trials to genetic epidemiology, participating in international research efforts to better understand the genetic causes of hypertension.
