The book is about exploring the reasons of why people do not practice what they have known. It is a crucial part in health promotion. An example of mothers of children with diarrhoea is widely elaborated in this book. Psychological analysis and contextual community understanding and belief are well discussed using social and psychological perspective of analysis. The unmatched biomedical concept and community understanding are well presented in this study. Evidence of this study allowing us to learn the need of translating biomedical language into a more contextual language of any targeted communities to enhance the health of the people.

Kwartarini Wahyu Yuniarti is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta-Indonesia. In the last five years, she has received the German Research Society, DAAD, and European Commission Awards for teaching and research in Europe. She is currently director of Center for Indigenous and Cultural Psychology.
