Malaria is one of the worlds important parasitic disease.After thousands of years,it still remains the worlds most parasitic infection.reduction of malaria morbidity and mortality is an important issue to meet the overall objectives of reducing poverty and has been included in the millennium development goals-Goal6,target7.Community participation is necessary to achieve the above goals. there is a need to know the existing knowledge and attitudes of population regarding malaria as a disease,its treatment and control. hence the present study was undertaken as an attempt to understand the community knowledge attitudes and practices among tribal population of East Godavari district.
