Beschreibung

This book offers a comprehensive and practical overview of vitreoretinal surgery, blending foundational principles with real clinical experience. It explains the evolution of surgical techniques, the physical concepts that underpin them, the use of intraocular tamponade agents, and the essential considerations that guide safe and effective operative practice. Core steps of vitrectomy are presented with clarity, supported by detailed explanations that help readers build a strong technical understanding. A wide range of diseasespecific surgical approaches is explored, including rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, epiretinal membranes, macular holes, and proliferative vitreoretinopathy, along with dedicated guidance for pediatric and adolescent cases. Rich case photographs and surgical images encourage readers to analyze real scenarios, apply their knowledge, and strengthen their clinical reasoning. Throughout, the book emphasizes the precision, diligence, and attention to detail that define excellence in vitreoretinal surgery, offering practical insight into how these qualities can be cultivated in everyday clinical and research practice.
