Beschreibung
Procalcitonin is a promising bio maker of sepsis. This book gives a review of its utility in adult critically ill patients in ICUs for sepsis diagnosis compared to microbiological culture. It's diagnostic accuracy has been compared with culture and area under the curve has also been calculated compared to White blood cell count and c-reactive protein taking culture as gold standard for the diagnosis of sepsis.

I am a Consultant Chemical Pathologist currently serving in Karachi Pakistan. I have done my M.D followed by a fellowship in Chemical Pathology from College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan in 2017. My area of expertise and interest includes renal boilermakers, bio markers of sepsis and markers of bone formation/resorption.
