COPD is a leading disease increasing the mortality world wide and affecting the quality of life of the population suffering from the disease. Pulmonary rehabilitation includes excercises for breathing and strengthening exercises for respiratory muscles as well as upper and lower extremity muscles. Alongwith that, the stability and strength of core muscles plays an important role in breathing. But, there are very few studies have emphasized the core muscles assessment and strengthening exercises. Current book helps in understanding the role of core muscles in COPD patients and the importance of assessment of these muscles COPD.
