Hijamah (Cupping) is is an important modality and is considered to be an important non pharmacological therapy in traditional systems of Medicine. It is included in Unani System of Medicine under Ilaj-bit-tadbeer (Regimenal therapy). Hijamah (Cupping) is practiced for many diseases since time immemorial. It spread to the world from by ancient cultures such as Egyptians, Chinese and other Middle Eastern civilizations. Many published research papers confirmed the efficacy of cupping therapy. There are two types of hijama: Hijama bil shart (Cupping with scarification) and Hijama bila shart (Cupping without scarification). This book discusses Al Hijamah (cupping therapy) in detail. It describes the therapy, its history, method, mechanism, application, indications and contraindications in detail.
