The predicting outcome of patients admitted in intensive care unit always remains an area of great concern for physicians as well as for patient's families. The impact of determining prognosis bears on different aspects of patient care like selection of medical therapy, triaging, end of life care, quality control, decision making, and many more.It has been shown that APACHE II and GCS have been widely accepted as a measure of illness severity and they can accurately stratify risk of death in a wide range of disease states, and in different clinical settings.In this book we compare the performance of APACHE II and GCS in Post Anesthesia Care unit (PACU)
