Attention deficit hyperactivity is a neurodevelopmental disorder affecting 5.29%of children on the world. The disorder is characterized by 1)inattention 2)motor over activity and 3)poor impulse control. Neonatal problems,history of mental illness, drug use and smoking are some of the factors associated with ADHD. It produces impairment in social, academic,personal and occupational functioning.ADHD is more common among boys than females and the disorder manifest early before the child gets in school. Most health professionals neglect the problem and fail to screen the child and to teach family.

I,Mr. Firew Tiruneh, took my undergraduate study from University of Gondar in Midwifery and my MSc. in Child health from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. I had worked in Hospital and currently am working as a lecturer and researcher in Mizan-Tepi Universirty, Ethiopia. I have published different articles and books.
