Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a psychiatric disorder marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development. This is one of the most common childhood psychiatric disorders and probably one of the most common undiagnosed psychiatric disorders in adults. ADHD always begins in childhood and may be followed by a lifelong expression of symptoms, including inattention, excessive motor hyperactivity or restlessness, and poor impulse control. This book covers the history, etiopathogenesis, diagnosis of ADHD. In addition it talks about the association of ADHD with sleep disturbances like periodic limb movement disorder and sleep disordered breathing (sleep apnea).
