In real problem, a statistician is often interested in guessing the distribution from which the true data is obtained. Characterization problem is theoretical approach to obtain the distribution function if certain condition is fulfilled. A probability distribution can be characterized in many ways and the method under study here is one of them. We have used here the conditional expectation of generalized order statistics conditioned on a pair of non-adjacent generalized order statistics.This book deals with the characterization of continuous family of distributions conditioned on a pair of non adjacent ordered random variables, i.e. conditioned on a pair of non adjacent order statistics, Records, generalized order statistics.
