The efficient management of computer workstations is a process highly dependent on the underlying IT infrastructure, the position of the different stakeholder and user groups as well as the professional orientation of an institution. A management system for workstations in Austrian vocational schools can be implemented by the use of MS SCCM and MS WSUS featuring the flexible administration of multiple and inhomogeneous software profiles. Thus, challenges like optimal resource usage and acceleration of update intervals can be met, resulting in an almost continuous and highly parallelized management process.
