The future of education in Africa is mobile. Mobile learning, either alone or in combination with existing education approaches, is supporting or extending education in ways not possible before. Mobile learning is powerful because it breaks through the traditional barriers of time, location, and the cost of delivering educational content. The power of the Internet in an educational context has always been that it simplifies access to content and the experts on that content (Ambient Insight Regional Report,2013).

Mr Jean Claude Ruvuta has been studying Masters of Science in Information Science at Mount Kenya University, Kigali, Rwanda since year 2013. He is currently working as Senior IT Administrator at KPMG Rwanda. His current interests are use of ICT tools such as mobile to change traditional learning system to self-directed Learning.
