Biometric recognition is the use of individual biometric physical or behavioural characteristic such as iris, retina, and fingerprint to uniquely identify the person. This technology offers a reliable and convenient solution to the problem of personal recognition. Fingerprint identification and verification system is the most widely used today because of its easy of implementation and high performance. With the increase in the use of biometric systems in various sectors and organisations, there is increasing concern about the security and privacy of persons involved. Deploying a biometric system on the web makes it accessible by everybody thereby exposing it to hackers and imposters that might exploit the system for their own gain. The Book- Performance and Security Evaluation of Biometric Web-Based Application deals on the investigation of the performance and Security of web application when it involves biometric system.

The author Ogbuabor Godwin Okechukwu hail from Amede Eha-Amufu in Isi-Uzo LGA of Enugu State, Nigeria. He obtained MSc. in Software Engineering in University of Greenwich London and BSc in Computer Science of Michael Okpara University, Umudike. He is currently a lecturer at the Department of Computer Science, Michael Okpara University Umudike.
