Microsoft now provides everything needed for developers to setup a full-featured, automated development pipeline for delivering mobile apps to multiple platforms such as Android and iOS, as well as Windows Phone OS. The toolset is a combination of Xamarin with Visual Studio Team Services and HockeyApp, and the Google Trends lines for all three technologies are solidly in the upward direction. Cost to developers for this toolset is zero, and the benefits are faster time to market and reduced development costs. The major benefit to this book is that it saves developers from having to repeat a tedious manual process - that no developer likes to repeat! - for each new iteration of an app. The result is an optimized process for delivering apps to customers while guaranteeing quality and helping ensure much-coveted, five-star ratings.
