Reading is perhaps the most important way of conventional learning. The ability to read well is even more important nowadays than earlier, taking into consideration the enormous amount of information in circulation and readily available through internet. Learning strategies exist that have been shown to enhance understanding of written material. Research literature points out various advantages of the graphical learning strategies and this book presents a computer-based tutor aimed at facilitating the training of a graphical learning strategy that may foster a learner's capacity for learning from text.

I decided to follow a Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence career in the late 1980s. So, I got a PhD degree from Sussex University in 1996 and since then I have been a professor at Federal University of Paraiba in Brazil. I am an author of five books on programming and my research focus is on programming errors and how to prevent them.
